Readers will be familiar with the Murray Pfaff and his Imperial Speedster from some past articles. What people may not be familiar with is that he organizes a ton of awesome automotive events in the Detroit area. This month we feature two upcoming events open to any gearhead who wants to hang out with like-minded people.
First up is Cartoberfest “Cars of Distinction” to be held on Saturday October 12th from 10am to 4pm. This event is likely the last hurrah of the season for our local car aficionados as all I seem to hear lately is “Winter is Coming“. The event will feature “cars of distinction” inside the warehouse and a vendors midway in the parking lot complete with a food truck, Tilted Kilt girls, new car ride and drives, raffle prizes and more!
If Cars of Distinction doesn’t float your valves then perhaps Rears and Gears will catch your attention. The next iteration of this fabulous event is being held Thursday October 24th at 6:00 at Classic and Exotic Service in Troy.
The talented craftsmen at Classic and Exotic Service in Troy, MI are opening their doors to our gathering and welcoming us in. Classic and Exotic are respected world-wide for their extensive restorations that puts even the most minute of details under scrutiny. Their work on Duesenbergs, Packards, Bugattis, and Bentleys have won awards from Pebble Beach, St. John’s, CCCA, to Amelia Island. We’ll get rare access to current projects including marques like American Underslung, Cord, Peugeot, Maserati, Ferrari, Pierce Arrow, Hispano Suiza, Rolls Royce, a Tucker and more!
In addition, the Detroit Bicycle Company will be on-hand to show us that fine craftsmanship resonates with them too. Additional companies that will be at the event include Aeromotive, the masters of fuel deliver and fuel systems, Fastrac Exotics who offer affordable hot laps in Lamborghini and Ferraris, and Haggerty Insurance to answer your collector car insurance questions.
On the gastric front (because you can’t bench race without something to wet your whistle and fill your stomach) some of Michigan’s finest craft beers will be showcased by Powers Distributing. Detroit’s newest Food Truck the Mean Weenie will be serving an old favorite with a new twist and to make sure you look good Jason from the Berkley Chop Shop is returning for your annual hair cut.
